Ik maak deze posting tijdens de voorlaatste presentatie van de dag. Dan kunnen we genieten van het weekend. Ik kijk er naar uit. We huren een grote SUV en gaan morgen naar San Franscisco, Union Square en op zaterdagavond zouden we in Saucalito gaan eten, maar na wat websearch lijkt me het toch niet zo'n goed idee. Straks gaan we eten bij het Mexicaanse restaurant waar we zondag gegeten hebben. Het is daar goed eten.
Consuelo Mexican Bistro
Critic: The SceneVibrant primary colors are the backdrop for faux early 20th-century lanterns and painted pottery. The open kitchen is at the far end of the restaurant, while long rows of wooden tables and oversized booths host families, tourists and tequila enthusiasts--more than 50 varieties of the liquor are available. Conscientious waiters in silky guayaberas are timely and provide helpful assistance with ordering. The FoodMexican favorites are gussied up with innovative and high-quality ingredients. Prepared tableside, chunky guacamole is blended to diners' tastes and forgoes the overindulgent addition of sour cream. Another standout is rich quesadillas stuffed with soft, stringy asadero cheese and sweet fire-roasted poblano chilies. The most complex tastes are reserved for entrees: Tangy prawns are sauteed in tamarind-mole sauce, which provides a Oaxacan-Indian fusion flavor, while tender lamb shank is steamed inside banana leaves to preserve the hint of its marinade of muscat wine and spices.
